City hospital gets P26m CT scan machine from DOH

THE Department of Health (DOH) formally handed over the P26-million CT Scan machine to JR Borja General Hospital (JRBGH) two weeks after the hospital’s Hemodialysis Unit was officially opened.

In her message, DOH Director Dr. Leonita Gorgolon, who led the handover ceremony of the CT Scan machine, noted the improvements in the hospital’s facilities and equipment.

“You’re very lucky because CT Scan costs about P26 million. Just by [providing] support or services to our people, it was recognized that you really need such facility or equipment,” Gorgolon said.

JR Borja General Hospital is the sixth to receive a CT Scan machine from DOH in the entire country.

“Marami pa po tayong pag-uusapan, marami pa po kaming maitutulong. But nevertheless, our presence despite of our very busy schedule is already a sign of our commitment to really support you,” Gorgolon said.

Northern Mindanao Center for Health Development Director Dr. Jose Llacuna Jr., for his part, reminded the hospital to take care of its facility and equipment.

“I would like to emphasize that if we wish to complete the objectives of universal health care, which is to provide services to our people, aside from being grateful to the donor, [we should] take care of this facility and its equipment as if it’s our own,” Llacuna said.

“Ownership is very important so that our equipment will become clean, efficient, and productive, and will have a longer shelf life, giving more opportunities to serve our people. Importante gayud ang maintenance and day-to-day operations of the hospital,” he added.

It can be recalled that on September 30, JR Borja General Hospital officially opened its Hemodialysis Unit as well as its CT Scan and RT PCR molecular laboratory.

The event was led by City Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy, who expressed his gratitude to the JRBGH as well as the City Government’s previous administration. (JAS-CIO)
