Former Ozamiz City councilor Ricardo “Ardot” Parojinog on Monday filed a petition for Writ of Amparo before the Supreme Court in a bid to protect his life, allow him freedom and security for him and his family.
This is to prevent actions against him and his family by the authorities.
The Writ of Amparo is directed towards Philippine National Police Chief Director General Oscar Albayalde, Ozamiz City Chief Maj. Jovie Espenido, and Ozamiz City acting executive judge of the Regional Trial Court of Ozamiz City Soliver Peras.
A Writ of Amparo, to note is a legal remedy for the right to life, to live freely and promote security for the person concerned and his family. He also sought a temporary restraining order from the SC relative to the cases against him.
Ricardo is the brother of slain former Ozamiz City mayor Reynaldo Parojinog in a dawn raid in his house on July 31, 2017.
The former councilor is currently facing cases of murder, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, and illegal possession of explosives.
