BUTUAN City– An armed Sri Lankan national who gone berserk and fired his gun many times in public in Purok 6, Barangay De Oro this city was arrested by responding Butuan City Police on Friday.

Barangay De Oro is about 14 kilometers away from the city proper of Butuan and is located within boundary of Sibagat, Agusan del Sur and Butuan.

OIC Butuan City Police Director Supt. Romy Palgue identified the arrested foreign national as Fernando Dominic Arachige Jude Srinath, 40, who is resident of Purok 5, Barangay Holy Redeemer, Butuan City.

Police said they found Srinath who is engaged into lending business, under the influence of liquor, went wild and fired his hand gun in public without apparent reason.

The police added that the suspect fired his protector .38 Special CTG without serial number near vicinity of many residents in the area who were alarmed and then informed the barangay captain about the alarm and public scandal the suspect was making.

The barangay captain has ordered Barangay Tanod Henry Cagmat to call for police assistance. But it took some time for the police to respond that made the people in tense condition.

Upon arrival of the police, they then arrested the foreign national and then filed corresponding charges in court.
