COUNCILOR Joyleen Mercedes Balaba has expressed concern over the implementation of the coastal road project and installation of lights along Barangay Lapasan.
In her special report last week, Balaba cited the need to light up the coastal road to ensure the security of residents and the riding public, especially motorists.
Balaba said when she was designated as Acting City Mayor from July 25 to Aug. 1, City Engineer Rolando Pacuribot brought to her office the list of various city projects which require consultation with the Department of Public Works and Highways-10.
One of the issues presented was the construction of the pedestal and installation of lighting along the coastal road.
“The city needs a partnership with the DPWH for this project as this requires a huge budget, and the installation of lighting is needed to prevent unlawful incidents,” she stressed.
The lady councilor said she asked the City Police Office for a copy of reported vehicular accidents and crime incidents in that area. (sp)
