This after Beauty Wise Philippines (BWP) Operations COO, Jennifer Tapulgo-Galo described their experience during BWP’s charity event in Marawi city last May 5 that benefited 600 family evacuees affected during the 5-month long arm conflict between the government and Isis-inspired Maute group that displaced thousands.

“Nakikita ko nahihirapan sila, kasi sa isang kubo dalawang families ang tumitira, ang problema kasi maliit yung kubo, at nakikita ko sa mga tao doon nalulungkot sila. kaya sa maliit na bagay kong ano man naibigay ng Beauty Wise sana nakabigay ng saya kahit panandaliang ginhawa,” BWP Operation head Urbanita Tapulgo said.

BWP launched its first ever charity event in Marawi City in time for the start of the Ramadan season dubbed “Bangon Marawi: Continue to Rise Marawi” to help 600 families who are currently staying in tents at Marawi’s evacuation site in Pag-Asa Phase 1.

The company provided 600 displaced families with basic goods packed with rice, can goods, among others.

The President and mother of Beauty Wise couple owners, Urbanita Tapulgo educating our Maranao brothers and sisters on the livelihood packages they gave away for free.

“This is our first activity, and sana magawa naming ito ng maraming beses pa in the future. Next month in time sa opening ng school year we are planning to distribute school supplies to remote areas in Mindanao,” Galo revealed.

The company also distributed livelihood kits amounting to P100 thousand (P2 thousand/family) to 50 families chosen through a raffle draw and provided entrepreneur training to beneficiaries.

“We conducted an entrepreneurial training through a mini-seminar on how to use the kits, SRP explanation, and other basic trainings to help them succeed. We also plan to follow up the beneficiaries if they managed to sustain the reseller kits that we gave them,” Tapulgo said.

Galo said that the activity aims to help IDPs in their struggle by providing livelihood through BWP products and relief goods so that they (IDPs) they may continue to rise and have hope.

“Ang amin lang is makapag bigay kami ng tulong kahit maliit man o malaki sa mga tao na nangangailangan lalo na sa mga evacuation area sa Marawi at mabigyan sila ng kunting kasiyahan,” Galo said.
