THE Cagayan de Oro Power and Lights Co. (Cepalco) announced new blackout schedules until today in many parts of Misamis Oriental and Cagayan de Oro due to the continuing power shortage in Mindanao.

From 1 pm to 5 pm, a power interruption would affect “Group 1” which includes the greater portion of Carmen, Upper Carmen, Kauswagan, Bulua, Iponan, a large portion of the city proper, Camaman-an, Bolonsori, Cogon and JR-Borja extention up to “Galaxy” in Gusa.

Group 2 areas can expect the blackouts from 9 am to 1 pm. The areas under the group include some parts of Villanueva, Jasaan, Tagoloan in Misamis Oriental, Bugo, Puerto, Agusan, Tablon, Malasag, Gusa, Lapasan, Nazareth, Macasandig, Tambo, Tibasak, Mandumol up to Taguanao, Upper Balulang, PN Roa and all of Lumbia.

Group 3 areas may expect the blackout from 9 am to 1 pm. The areas Bonbon, Bayabas, Patag, NHA phase 1 and 2, RER phases 1 and 2 and all of Barangay Consolacion, all of Macabalan and some parts of Agora.

Cepalco also announced that depending on the actual load curtailment levels set by the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP), actual power switching may or may not occur when load levels are within allocation.

With the continuing power shortage being experienced all over Mindanao Cepalco advises the public to conserve electricity. (dave achondo)
