A rare astronomical phenomenon, on Sunday night when the moon appeared 14% bigger than usual gave out a reddish hue, an even known as a super blood moon. A so-called supermoon occurs when the moon is closest to Earth in its orbit. It also coincided with the lunar eclipse, leaving the moon in the Earth’s shadow. The super blood moon will not appear again until 2033. (Photo by Cong B. Corrales)
