Reports from Agusan del Norte Provincial Police and Jabonga, Agusan del Norte Municipal Police Offices identified the nabbed suspected shabu pusher as Gay Almanzor Calo, 34, a local government worker and married to Municipal Councilor Eric Calo.

Jabonga, Agusan del Norte Chief of Police Senior Insp. Ernesto Telano said Calo was arrested in Purok 1, Barangay Libas, Jabonga, Agusan del Norte where she was allegedly selling illegal drugs shabu in the area.

Authorities have identified Barangay Libas as a favorite destination for people hooked to illegal drugs. People  who have frequented the village have not turned themselves over the Oplan Tokhang because of alleged political clout and intervention by influential politicians.

PO2 Gerry Madronero, Jabonga investigator, said they confiscated from Calo: six plastic transparent sachets containing suspected shabu; one folded yellow paper with suspected shabu powder in it, drug paraphernalia, and marked money of P500 used in the buy bust operation.

The arrested suspected shabu pusher’s husband Councilor Eric Calo ran for councilor during May 9, 2016 elections under political party Kusog Mindanao and Nacionalista Party of now Agusan del Norte Congressman Erlpe john Amante .
