M/Sgt. Marvin Yacapin of the Pueto identified the suicide as 40-year-old Evangeline Delapos, of Barangay Bugo.

Yacapin said Delapos live-streamed her suicide on Facebook but it was unclear if anyone was able to watch it. Facebook normally takes down posts that violate “community standards,” including live-streamed suicides.

“Ang iyang cellphone iyang giplastar pagbutang sa banggira sa balay nga iyang gipuy-an ug iyang gi-live sa iyang Facebook account ang iyang pagpakamatay,” Yacapin said.

He said Delapos tied a nylon cord around her neck and tied the other end of the cord to the ceiling in the kitchen of her rented house at Phase 1, Zone 3, Villa Trinitas in Barangay Bugo.

Yacapin said police found a two-page suicide note written by Delapos.
“Ang nasulat sa iyang suicide note (kay) nag-ingon siya nga duna kunoy iyang dako nga problema ug ingon pa siya (nga) sorry,” Yacapin told reporters.

Yacapin said investigators have already ruled out foul play in Delapos’s death.

Delapos’s brother Joel said he last saw his sister alive early morning yesterday. He said she went out to buy something from from a neighborhood store.

Thirty minutes later, he found his sister hanging at the kitchen.
