The executive, Edwin Torres Sr., 56, a liaison officer of RTMI, was bound to Cagayan de Oro when he was reportedly abducted at around 4:10 am, said Senior Insp. Sabino Labitad.

Police said it was the victim’s wife Merly who brought the abduction to the attention of authorities.

Investigators said Torres was dragged into a white Toyota Innova. The executive was sitting and waiting for a RTMI bus bound for Cagayan de Oro when the kidnappers came.

Insp. Eddie Akut, who led a team of investigators to the area, said a 22-year old resident witnessed how the victim was dragged by three still unidentified men to the vehicle.

Akut said the vehicle sped off toward the direction of Lanao del Norte.

The victim’s son Chafflian told investigators he suspected that the abduction was workelated, noting that his father was tasked to handle “sensitive cases” of RTMI.
