The affected consumers claim they have been experiencing power outages of at least an hour two to three times almost every day.

Dante Salang, manager of Prince Town in Gingoog City, said the provincial board should act on their complaint since the power outages have been happening for already a month.

“They should investigate this questionable brownouts that happen almost everyday in Gingoog City,” Salang said

Salang also questioned the “lousy” services of Keng Energy Generation, Inc. (Kegi) which did immediately went online during the series of power outages.

Salang said as he cited that Moresco II did not immediately use the Kegi when the whole area of Gingoog, Magsaysay, and Medina experienced a long blackout on Oct. 6.

“Moresco II  only used the Kegi and supplied electricity in Gingoog and Medina at about 10:30 in the morning. The blackout started at about 5:47 am,” said Salang.

Only Magsaysay remain without electricity until the system totally restored at about 6 pm on the same date according to Mayor Buhisan.

“The Nasipit-San Luis 69kv line auto tripped at 06:17:49H with load of 7.8mw and relay tripped indication of A-B-G at 13.21kms that caused (the) blackout (affecting) Gingoog, Medina, and Magsaysay areas on Oct. 6,” Engr. Ronnel Cañada of Moresco II said in a text message.

Salang posited that the series of power outages is the reason why they are paying higher than usual power bills.

Magsaysay Town Mayor Rey Buhisan, for his part, said he wants the provincial board to give “full attention” to their complaint.

Talisayan Mayor Rommel Maslog, chairman of the Gingoog Bay Alliance, urged for immediate solution of the problem which his town is also affected with the poor electric services.

“Angay mahatagan ug igong pagtagad kining problema sa brownout ug niining pasiga palong nga maoy makadaot sa atong mga appliances,” Balingoan Kagawad Roberto Corrales complained.

Sugbongcogon also experienced lousy services of the electric cooperative said Municipal Kagawad Mercy Abcede.
