THE City Council committee on health and sanitation and health insurance chaired by Councilor Maria Lourdes Gaane, adopted a resolution recognizing Cagayan de Oro City’s award from the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) for “highest number of enrollees without arrears and on-time payment under Sponsored Program.”

During the recent meeting, Marlon Arrabaca of Philhealth said during its anniversary last month the office was asked to nominate which local government unit has the highest number of enrollment without arrears.

“Of course, without hesitation, Cagayan de Oro was nominated and gladly it was approved by the regional vice president,” he said.

Arrabaca said  three local governments were nominated under its jurisdiction but the city got the award.

It may be recalled that Gaane and Dr. William Bernardo received the plaque of recognition representing Mayor Oscar Moreno during the Stakeholders Recognition in Manila last week.

Gaane expressed her gratitude to Philhealth for choosing the city as most prompt in payment of membership premium.

The Cebu Provincial Government garnered second place while Santa Rosa, Laguna bagged the third place. (sp)
