THE oldest press club in the country the Cagayan de Oro Press Club celebrated its 64th anniversary yesterday afternoon at their main office along Velez St., this city.

The Press Club, under the leadership of Hugo “Ka Jerry” Orcullo, a seven term President of the club, along with other members celebrated this glorious occasion and further strengthened the bonds between media practitioners.

The Club consistently defends the principle casino online of press freedom and actively fights against all forms of media harassment.

It is the only press club in existence that consistently commemorates the Maguindanao Massacre every 23rd day of the month with protest actions such as candle lighting and rally and commemorates the grisly murders every year at the Press Freedom Monument, this city since 2010.

Militant, uncompromising and uncowed the Cagayan de Oro Press Club advocates above all the freedom of information and the discrimination of libel. (Dave Achondo)
