GINGOOG City––A Cagayanon emerged as the winner in the search for Miss Earth Philippines-Misamis Oriental at the Arturo S. Lugod Memorial Cultural and Sports Center in this city.
Cagayan de Oro’s Mitsume Aguilar bested 10 other candidates, and was crowned by Mayor Marie Guingona as Miss Earth Philippines-Misamis Oriental.
The provincial search was Carousel Productions Inc. through MBV Statuesque Promotions.
Guingona lauded all 11 candidates, and called them “women of the earth.”
It was also an opportunity for Guingona to promote Gingoog as an eco-tourism destination.
She lauded the organizers for staging “such fascinating provincial search that truly honed our ladies’ talents, intelligence and confidence in representing themselves as ambassadors of our Mother Nature, spreaders of ecological balance, messengers of environmental awareness, catalysts for green revolution and amazons against global warming.” –buboy pabia
