THE City Council committee on roads and traffic management chaired by Councilor Romeo V. Calizo on its meeting this week discussed the various complaints against misbehaving, discourteous, and undisciplined traffic enforcers of the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA).

As observed by Calizo, the cause of major road altercations between enforcers and erring drivers is the improper approach of some RTA personnel. He said this is probably due to the fact that these enforcers were not properly oriented and trained on how to compose and control themselves specifically on “hot situations” when drivers seem to contest their supposed traffic violations.

A representative of the Traffic Division of Cagayan de Oro City Police Office cited that the “bad image” of the RTA stems from the numerous complaints aired and posted all over radio, tv, paper and social media.

Calizo requested the RTA and Cocpo to draft recommendations and suggestions on how to resolve these matters. (clo)
