POLICE director for northern Mindanao Brig. Gen. Rafael Santiago ordered intensified security operations in Region 10 over the weekend in the wake of the deadly explosion in Indanan, Sulu on Friday.

Camp Alagar spokesman Lt. Col. Surki Sereñas said Camp Alagar wants security measures along the boundaries of the region.

Sereñas said the Regional Mobile Force Battalion was also directed to keep an eye on strategic entry points in an effort to keep bombers away.

He however said there was no cause for worry and panic because the police have remained on top of the peace and order situation in northern Mindanao.

Cagayan de Oro City Police Office spokesman Lt. Col. Mardy Hortillosa said the local police would intensify “Oplan Galugad” on orders of Lt. Col. Reynante Reyes, Cocpo officer-in-charge.

“Oplan Galugad,” according to Hortillosa, has been proven to be effective in the police campaign to keep the city peaceful and orderly. (Nitz Arancon)
