Moreno said he chose from a list submitted to him by the police, and his pick was Col. Benedicto Pintor.

Pintor however was ordered to report to Camp Crame and was given a task at its intelligence unit. His last assignment was to head the provincial police office of Bukidnon.

Moreno is scheduled to meet with Brig. Gen. Rafael Santiago, police director for northern Mindanao and other police officials so they could agree on who should replace the late city police director Col. Nelson Aganon.

Aganon recently died as a result of a motorcycle accident while he was undergoing training for officers at Camp Evangelista.

Councilor Romeo Calizo,  chairman of the city council’s police committee, said the list submitted by Camp Alagar to Moreno had the names of four police officials.
