“The event titled Yul Be In Our Hearts aims to raise funds as a form of support for those who had perished as well as to those who survived but still in the hospital in the recent road crash in Alegria town in Surigao del Norte. Proceeds will be donated three who survived and still struggling in the hospital with their hospital bills and hopefully some to the families on those who perished. Hope that everyone would support the event,” said Carmen Docdocil, event organizer and general manager television and radio station.

A tragic road crash ended the lives of Brylle Viray, 19; Joe Basil Viray, 22; Joseph Evan B. Arbis, 55; Max Russel Bayutas, 15; all residents of Barangay Obrero, Butuan City; and Donafel Granada, 20, barangay Curbada in Bayugan City.

“The event will start at around 4:00 Saturday afternoon, where it will kick off with performances from local bands as well as dance groups in alternating the stage. At the same time, our bazaar which will sell pre-loved items will be opened to the public, other shops like an ice cream stand will also open, proceeds from the bazaar and ice cream will be donated to the event. By 6:00 pm there will be a Zumba session to be participated by different groups who bought tickets that will also be used in the main evening event,” said Docdocil.

By 7:30 pm, the official launch of the event will kick off with a planned fashion rock event with dancers and other performers gracing our stage.

“So we will have models on stage wearing clothes made by our designers as well as selected pre-loved items. Then the bands will provide music for the beat while our models ramp up the stage, the dancers, as well as singers, will also perform along with them,” she said.

Most event organizers performing artists and musicians knows Yul Arbis as he owns Soundcheck lights and sound that caters to big events in Butuan City and other parts of Caraga Region.

While Yul Arbis, 43; Yul Adrian, and another passenger named Rusty Bayutas survived the crash but remains in the hospital and awaiting additional surgery.

Police investigation pointed out that the incident happened after the gold Mitsubishi Fusion with plate number KDP 713, driven by Arbis, was hit on its side by a white Isuzu D-Max with plate number KGN 141 driven by Manolito Cubelo Acuzar, 51, of Barangay Bonifacio, Surigao City, sending the Fusion to crash into a mango tree wrecking the vehicle.

Families of the victims are hoping that Acuzar will present himself and help support in the hospital expense as he is accordingly yet to visit the victims in Butuan City.
