GINGOOG officials expressed their support for the postponement of Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections which is supposed to be scheduled on May 14, this year.

Most of their reason is because of the declaration of martial law and the unstable peace and order situation of their respective areas.

Board Member Leonard Winstanley Federation president of Liga ng mga Barangay Misamis Oriental said the provincial barangay officials in the province are all in favor of the postponement due to the presence of communist insurgency in the province.

In a public hearing on Wednesday conducted by the Commission on Election from Central office at Grand Caprice in Limketkai here different Liga ng mga Barangay have submitted their respective position papers on the postponement of the elections.

The public hearing was for the determination of factual basis to suspend the May 14 elections in Mindanao.
