A Davao City-based opinion writer went missing after she was arrested at the Laguindingan Airport in Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental while waiting for her flight back home Sunday morning.

Colleagues of Margarita Valle were concerned when they could not reach her by phone on Sunday afternoon.

Valle is a columnist at SunStar Davao and Davao Today.

She was in Cagayan de Oro to conduct a writing workshop for the Rural Missionaries of the Philippines.

A report said Valle has a standing arrest warrant, although it was not yet clear what the nature of her case is.

Arresting officers told Valle she will be brought to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).

Maj. Napoleon Carpio of the CIDG-10 has confirmed that Valle was arrested by CIDG-9 operatives, as he clarified that she is not under their custody.

No further details pertaining to Valle’s arrest were provided by authorities, as of this writing.
