A RESOLUTION expressing the city’s profound gratitude to Usaid, Synergia Foundation, Local School Board and the Department of Education-Cagayan de Oro City Schools Division for successfully holding the 2nd Cagayan de Oro Educational Summit was approved this week by the 18th City Council.

During the summit, performance and problems on education were addressed.  City Mayor Moreno presented his administration’s projects, which include the Special Education Fund, favorable teacher-student ratio, among others.

City Schools Division Superintendent Jonathan dela Peña,  presented the result of the National Achievement Test and the performance of Grades 6 and 10 students from year 2016 to 2018.

A workshop was also conducted where the participants created their strategic plan on how to further promote education to parents and students.

The summit, held in the city recently was participated by teachers from public and private schools of the city, and representatives of other agencies. (sp)
