The campaign was started uptown at 1 pm by a group composed of officials and personnel from the City Local Environment and Natural Resources Office (Clenro) and Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA). With them are people from the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB).

Engr. Armen Cuenca, who heads the Clenro, said the campaign was launched in time for the Environmental Month celebration.

The local government, he said, is serious in implementing the Clean Air Act and City Ordinance 1302-2016.

Cuenca said the inspections would be made from 9 am to 4 pm daily.

“Tanang diesel fuel nga mga sakyanan, apil ang mga sakyanan sa city hall ug mga government agencies, target sa  atong kampanya,” Cuenca said.

Erring motorists face fines ranging from P500 for the first offense and P1 thousand for the offense. On the third offense, the group would recommend to the Land Transportation Office (LTO) the suspension of the vehicle’s registration from six months to one year.
