Several reporters from print and radio outlets participated a crash course on Basic Criminal Procedure and Provisional Remedies on Thursday here.

The half-day activity was an initiative of the City Information Office.

Lawyer Dale Bryan Mordeno served as the resource person of the crash course.

According to CIO chief Maricel Rivera they took the initiative of offering a crash course on the subject to orient local reporters cover stories on crime and basic judiciary proceedings competently.

“This is also a good venue to equip reporters on the proper usage of legal jargons and other technical terms used by the courts,” Rivera said.

Rivera added the crash course will also help reporters ask relevant question after covering the anti-drug campaign of the police like buy-bust operations.

The CIO plans on conducting another series of trainings for reporters and will invite the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office.
