Geralde’s arrest came after he allegedly sold illegal drugs to a police informer who posed as a buyer.

Bulua police investigator SPO3 Jude Fuentes said they seized a sachet of suspected shabu worth P500.

Geralde, who has been teaching at Cogon Elementary School in El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental, denied the allegations. But he said he was just requested to buy illegal drugs.

“Based sa among information dugay na nga user ang suspect pero two months pa lang siya nagsugod og pamaligya,” Fuentes said.

Fuentes said Geralde’s financial problems forced him into allegedly selling illegal drugs.

Meanwhile, an estimated P12,000 worth of illegal drugs were also seized by the Lumbia police from street-level drug suspects in separate drug busts in the city.

Police arrested Renato Bucio, 29, of Zone 6, Barangay Kauswagan. Authorities seized from his possession  three sachets of suspected shabu worth P9,000.

Police identified the other suspect as Acsani Maruhom, 18, of Barangay Camaman-an. Maruhom was arrested by Cogon police during a drug bust inside in an inn located along Yacapin and Justo Ramonal streets.

Confiscated from Maruhom were three small sachets of suspected shabu worth P3,000, drug paraphernalia and a P200-marked money. (a.l. ricalde)
