The Agora police station has filed double homicide case before the City Prosecutor’s Office (CPO) to a man and his sons in stabbing to death a 50-year old and his nephew who barged into their home in Barangay Gusa on Sunday afternoon.

SPO2 Ronnie Donasco, Agora police investigator charged Alexander Teves, 53, and his sons Marlon, 26 and Mark, 25, of Purok 3-A, Barangay Gusa this city.

All of them were charged for double homicide for stabbing to death Riste Sanguenza, 50 and his nephew Lan Leonard Leonar, 31, of the same address.

Earlier, Insp. Ariel Pontillas, Agora police station commander said they are charging the Teveses for double murder. However, investigator reduced the recommendation following what they considered several circumstances in the commission of the crime.

Donasco said they rely more on the statement from several witnesses of the commission of the crime and not on the statement of the suspects.

He said elements according to Article 240 of the Revised Penal Code that there was no treachery during the commission of the crime but an encounter between two parties that resulted to the death of the other party.

He said witnesses claimed that the victims enter into the residential premises of the suspects where the suspects can claimed that they were just protecting themselves when the victims suddenly barged-in.

During the investigation, Alexander’s wife Anecita said her husband and children were innocent, and merely defended themselves from intruders.

Anecita said his son, Marlon just reacted when Sanguenza and Leonar armed with a jungle bolo tried to hacked her. She claimed that one of the suspect threw punches which hit her on the head.

After the inquest proceedings, the suspects were immediately sent to Lumbia City Jail for detention.
