Police M/Sgt. Michael Engito, Cogon police station chief, identified the suspect as Romnick Masayon, 26, a native of Rizal, Zamboanga del Norte but presently residing at Barangay Balulang, this city.

Masayon had an accomplice, a certain Jay Libojan, also a security guard but is still at-large.

The suspect was arrested while at Agora Bus terminal located at Barangay Lapasan, this city where he was detailed.

Recovered from Masayon during the arrest were a .38 caliber revolver with five live bullets.

Police said Masayon is also the suspect of a series of hold-up robberies in the city.

Nanulis ko sir tungod sa dako kaayo nako nga utang, wala nay gakabilin sa akong sweldo,” Masayon told police.

It was learned that Masayon barged into Meta Spa in JR Borja street, this city and once inside declared a hold-up.

Fortunately, he only took P200 cash since all the money was already paid to its employees a day before.

Masayon was wounded in his back after he was stabbed by the establishment’s manager.

He is currently detained at Cogon police station mini-cell pending the filing of a robbery case.
