THE city council, sitting as the Committee of the Whole, approved in principle the budget for the completion of the Male Dormitory of City Jail in Lumbia.
During the 2019 budget deliberation, the committee approved the allocation of P10 million as proposed by the Office of the City Mayor under its auxiliary programs “Aid to City Jail-Male Dormitory” for the purpose of decongesting the facility.
The three-story edifice will be the first project of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology to be funded by the city government. The allocation also increased in the budget for government’s aid for meals of inmates to P3 million. (sp)
