FIRE broke out and killed a couple and their three children at Purok 4-C, Barangay 2, San Francisco town in Agusan del Sur at around 10:45 pm Tuesday.
SFO2 Alan Salvaña of the Bureau of Fire and Protection identified the fire victims as 42-year old Kim Abelita, his wife Marivic, a teacher, and their children Lynde, 10, Maveric, 6, and Rianna, 3.
Salvaña told local radio that faulty electrical wirings caused the fire.
He said witnesses saw Kim trying to rescue his wife and kids inside their house but he failed and died with them.
“Wala na dayon makagawas si Kim ug apil siya gilamoy na sa kalayo,” said a witness.
Salvaña said the semi-concrete house was razed to the ground by the fire.
