AN update on the city’s community-based Alternative Learning System for the out-of-school-youth was recently held and attended by Councilor Suzette Magtajas-Daba, chair of the City Council committee on education.
The main objective of the ALS is to provide courses and education to those who cannot access or afford formal education in schools.
Daba thanked teachers and volunteers from different barangays who participated in the event, for their patience, understanding and sacrifices, and for making the activity successful.
Daba also attended the Leadership Communities Cagayan de Oro Year 4 launching and team building.
The purpose of the project is to empower the youth to become active agents in the positive transformation of the community. (sp)
