COUNCILOR Suzette Magtajas-Daba, chair of the committee on education, together with Mayor Oscar Moreno, and representatives of the Local School Board and Department of Education (DepEd), participated in the recently held Technical Education Skills Development and Employment committee meeting.
The participants discussed the unemployment problem in the city and how to address it.
The residents who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) are among those who are unemployed.
The committee said the root problem of the NEET must still be further looked into so that the city can soon come up with effective solutions to the problem on unemployment.
In line with this, Daba also attended a meeting with the AXUL Jobs Portal Team wherein discussions centered on the importance of effective job matching to address unemployment. (sp)
