COUNCILOR Ian Mark Nacaya has re-introduced the proposal for the construction of a five-level building for parking in Divisoria as one of the solutions to the growing problem on vehicular congestion in downtown Cagayan de Oro.

Nacaya told the city council that the Roads and Traffic Administration is working on a plan to decongest the city proper, and a multi-level building for parking in Divisoria is included in it.

The proposal was initially discussed early this year by the city council’s committees on ways and means, and trade, commerce and industry. It was suggested to undertake the project through a build-operate-and-transfer scheme.

Councilor George Goking said the business sector could help city hall by looking for investors for the proposed project.

“Dili na gyud kapugngan ang pagdaghan sa mga sakyanan unya wala na kita’y ka-parkingan mao nga bisan asa problema na gyud sa traffic that parking on both sides of the road has become an option,” Goking said.
