SUPPORTING the expansion programs of telecommunication companies, the 18th City Council endorsed with social acceptability the installation and operation of a cell site tower at Zone 4, Kisol, Barangay Pagatpat by Smart Communications.
According to site acquisition engineer Reginer Drio and site acquisition officer Jomari Maghinay, through its expansion project, Smart Communications will be able to provide better and faster services to its subscribers all over the country.
The establishment of the tower will result in more efficient communication, which will be helpful during emergencies, calamities and commercial dealings, they added.
The issuance of the social acceptability clearance is, however, subject to the rules and regulations provided for under the City Codified Ordinance and Ordinance No. 9119-2004, and other government agencies. It is also subject to the submission by the barangay secretary of Pagatpat of a certification attesting that the signatories of the neighbor’s consent are actual residents of the barangay.
The legislation was endorsed by the Committee of the Whole headed by the vice mayor and the committee on laws and rules chaired by Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya. (cli)
