Supporting the expansion of Philhealth’s Primary Care Benefit (PCB) program, the City Council during its regular session this week presided over by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin Uy enacted an ordinance authorizing Mayor Oscar Moreno to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Education covering the implementation of Philhealth’s Tamang Serbisyong Kalusugang Pamilya.

DepEd has signified intention to engage Cagayan de Oro City’s healthcare facilities, the City Health Office and the J.R. Borja General Hospital,  as its TSeKaP provider as mandated by Philhealth Circular No. 10, s, 2013.

Pursuant to the agreement, DepEd shall assign all their bonafide employees to its designated TSeKap providers.

DepEd personnel shall enlist themselves at the CHO and JRBGH based on a schedule formulated by the DepEd, a copy of which shall be provided to the City Health Insurance Office, CHO and JRBGH.

Meanwhile, the local health office and city hospital shall deliver TSeKaP services; establish and maintain an individual health profile of DepEd employees and their dependents at least once a year; and render all the services and benefits in the PCB program, which includes certain primary preventive services, obligated services, consultation, laboratory tests, drugs and medicines, among others.

The legislation was endorsed by the committees on health, sanitation and health insurance chaired by Councilor Maria Lourdes Gaane and on laws and rules chaired by Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya, with its vice chair, Councilors Zaldy Ocon, and George Goking. (sp)
