THE relic of St. John Baptist de la Salle, patron saint of teachers and founder of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, will arrive in Iligan on Dec. 2 and will stay there till Jan. 5, 2020. It will be on display for public veneration at the La Salle Academy.
The La Salle community is celebrating a Jubilee Year to mark the tercentennial death anniversary of the founder. He died in 1719.
The relic is his right arm bone. The relic is currently on tour for 300 days in the Philippines, visiting all the 16 schools of the La Salle School System in the country.
The tour of the relic is meant to promote the life and legacy of the saint not only for those involved with the De La Salle schools but also for the general public. (PR)
