DIGOS City — Drug traffickers operating in this city has reduced to a considerable number after the series of anti-illegal drugs operation under the government’s “Double Barrel” program.

Supt. Diozar Almaza, Digos police chief said during the recent City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (Cadac) meeting the city had 2,000 individuals listed as drug personalities but after the Oplan Tokhang and intensive anti-illegal drug campaign it was significantly reduced to 46 drug traffickers that remained in the police list.

Almaza said at least 3,800 houses within the city have been visited under Oplan Tokhang that yielded 2,474 users and pushers surrender either to the police or local officials.

The police netted 145 drug pushers and users in various sting operations where 121.5381 grams of shabu and 5.884 grams of marijuana were seized from the suspects.

He also confirmed that the 16 individuals included in the list of drug personalities in the city were found to be out of their area of responsibility.
