THE City Council committee on health and sanitation and health insurance chaired by Councilor Maria Lourdes Gaane is set to convene today at 9:30 am at the City Council Session Hall.
The committee will continue discussing the proposed ordinance on proxy consent for HIV and AIDS Testing in the city.
Gaane earlier explained that the practice is already being implemented in Davao City.
Dr. Jose Retuya of the City Health Office manifested that one staff of the CHO and two social workers from the City Social Welfare and Development were already trained on proxy consent. They are only waiting for the guidelines to be signed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development Office, he said.
The committee will also discuss the concern of an anonymous caller aired through 8888 Citizen’s Complaint Hotline against Puerto Community Hospital.
Lawyer Reymond Villablanca of the City Legal Office, Dr. Fe Bongcas and Dr. Rachel Dilla of CHO, are expected to attend the meeting. (cli)
