THE social media have lately been awash with negative stories about the Moreno administration. Some are politically motivated; others are not––we can easily see where the comments are coming from. But assuming some comments are tainted by partisan politics, it doesn’t mean that these are all lies. Just as when the allies of the Moreno administration answer the issues, it also doesn’t mean that they are all true. But when somebody claims that he or she is from the inside and has something to tell, that’s another story.

A very disgruntled one has been in contact with me to express his/her disgust with this administration. He/she feels obliged to divulge it all. His/her disgust goes beyond the perimeters of the city hall, and for that he/she decided to forget about the CBCP, and stopped going to church. Why would such a person do that?

For one, too many alleged lies and deceptions in the city government is bothering the conscience of this person. This person is not getting the support of the Church when he/she presented evidence. For that, he/she decided to send me documents.

I will evaluate the documents just as I evaluated the documents sent to me by a COWD employee years ago. The people will judge for themselves.

One thing noticeable is the way this administration passes all the blame on the city council majority whenever it fails to accomplish something. The majority have themselves to blame also because they weren’t like that during the time of their benefactor, and that destroyed their credibility.

This person claims that Oca Moreno is no different from Dongkoy Emano. But Dongkoy was much wiser because he did not leave paper trails. Moreno has many paper trails. This person alleges that Moreno has produced more instant millionaires in so short a time than Dongkoy in more than a decade.

Are all the talk about expensive cars and new houses worth millions of pesos accurate? How is that possible, if true? I once asked: do we really know the real income of the city government? Can we believe the records as declared? Why is the majority so afraid of allowing the mayor to get what he wants? Why can’t Dongkoy accept his defeat?

For those who supported Moreno in the last elections, disenchantment is high. Somebody quipped: “So do you think Moreno feels that he owes his victory to us? I don’t think so.” Why not, somebody asked. “It’s because he knew he didn’t owe his victory to us but to the party who put him there.”

If things go as planned and if this person does not back out from his own words, we can all look forward to a day of reckoning. I would rather that it came from the horse’s mouth.

He also exposed people behind two advocacy groups who are allegedly using the names of the organizations to serve personal interests, and someone from a “committee” who is using a position to make money.

Alas, all these in time for Christmas! Some things just can’t wait.

A reader complains why the traffic light at the intersection of Corrales and Recto avenues has not been fixed. Being one of the busiest intersections in the city, the repair should have been done a long time ago.

Maybe “Hapsay” has an answer. We’ve been there doing traffic. Once in a while, the lights work.

Again, perhaps the “CDOinfonet” would like to tell us what’s going on about this almost P100-million project. Has it been paid already in advance? Is the work going on as scheduled? Or is P100 million too small to matter?

Mahuman na lang ang termino ni Mayor Moreno, dili pa ni mahuman? Ngano man?

Playing the pro-poor card may be good but it may also boomerang. Wait till the city implements its plan for Cogon market this Christmas. If the result would not please the public, then we can simply say, “So, what else has changed?”
