‘Donated vehicles not fully operational yet’

iligan City — The pick -up vehicles donated by the city government are not fully operational yet, said Chief Insp. Jovane Cabusas.

“They are still in the surroundings at the police headquarters in Tipanoy, this city,” Cabusas said.

Although, he added, sometimes, these are being used for emergency responses.

Along with the six vehicles are machine guns that still have to be mounted on top.

These will be used by the police stations from Barangay Dalipuga to Buru-un, he added.

Earlier, acting mayor Jemar Vera Cruz explained why the said vehicles are colored red.

The specifications, he said were not red; it was either white or black. But red were the only ones that were available from the supplier, he added.

He said the city had to decide fast and make do with the red color since the city urgently needed the vehicles because of the lingering threats to the city.

To note, the present administration is identified with the “red” color.
