THE DECOMPOSING and in the advanced stage of rigor mortis of the body of a man who drowned in Cagayan River has been found by the police.
The body got snagged in the grasses on the side of the river in Barangay Balulang at about 5:50 yesterday morning.
Carmen Police Investigator Junel Monterola identified the fatality as Jestony Rebosura, 21 years old and a resident of Barangay Indahag.
Monterola said Rebosura was reportedly the male drowning victim on Tuesday afternoon.
The police investigator also said they have ruled out foul play because a sister of Rebosura confirmed he did drown.
According to Jenny Rebosura, the victim’s sister, Jestony, a younger sibling, and some friends went swimming on Tuesday afternoon at the Cagayan River.
“Gi-kraman ang iyang tiil ug na anod sa kusog nga sulog sa tubig,” Jenny said.
Rebosura’s body now lies at Guillermo Funeral Homes in Barangay Iponan, this city.
