SPO2 Rommel Madlos identified the victims as Mark Joseph Paham, a resident of Macanhan, Carmen, this city. Paham was positively identified by his mother Rachel.

Madlos said Anthony Casiño, a security guard assigned at city hall, saw Paham’s body hooked in a moored pump boat near Duaw Park.

He said they found no foul play in the death of Paham.

Another companion of the victim identified only as “Miggy” is still missing as of this writing.

It was learned that the victim was with eight other friends who were swimming at Macasandig River.

The group then agreed to swim cross to the other side of the river.

Upat ra sila ang milangoy pagtabok. Pero nahadlok seguro si Ramram (Mark Joseph) ug si Miggy kay sulog man daw mao tong gibalik apan nadala na gyud sila sa sulog,” Rachel said citing what the companions of her son have told her.

She said she last saw the victim last Friday evening when the latter asked permission to go to Divisoria.

The victim was the eldest of the four siblings and Grade 7 high school student at Carmen National High School.

Responding rescue teams composed of Oro rescue and the Coast Guard are still looking for the other missing body.
