Iligan City — A 42-year old man was slain Tuesday evening even as a police officer was wounded during a buy-bust operations here.

The police at Station 3 at Barangay Dalipuga identified the victim as Andres “Andy” Laspinas, of Dulce Amor, Barangay Acmac.

The incident happened at a bunk house at C-3 road, Purok 19, Pala-o, this city. Taken from the suspect was one plastic containing suspected shabu, P500 bill, four bullets from a .38 caliber revolver, disposable lighter, P100 bill, and P20 bill.

During the  operation at the bunk house, it was learned that the suspect fought it out with the operatives and in the process, he was fatally hit in his chest, even as PO2 Reach Escalante was also hit in the chest but it was not fatal as the latter was wearing a bullet-proof vest.

Milagros Lluisma, a kagawad of Acmac said Laspinas was not included in the drug watch list in the area.
