Operatives of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo) have arrested three suspected individuals engaged in illegal drug trade as they resumed their Oplan Tokhang Reloaded.

Cocpo’s City Intelligence Unit lead by Chief Insp. Ariel Phillip Pontillas arrested one suspected drug pusher identified as Aldrin Llagas Japona, 47, and a resident of Sitio Calaanan, Barangay Canitoan, this city.

Police recovered from Japona’s possession eight elongated heat sealed suspected shabu, one large rectangular sachet, aluminum foils, drug paraphernalia, and suspected drug money amounting to P10 thousand.

Pontillas said they already arrested the suspect last year but when they conducted surveillance to all suspected drug users and pushers who managed to get out in jail through bail, they noticed that Japona was still engaged in the illegal drug trade.

In other police operations, Macabalan police station operatives lead by Chief Insp. Ernesto Daing along with Pastor Ernesto Managuing and barangay chairman Norbel Saa revisited previous suspected individuals who used illegal drugs along Sitio Barra, Barangay Macabalan and were able catch two person red handed selling drugs in the area.

Police identified the suspect as Benny Guillermo Brazil alias Bebet, 52. Police were able to recover from Brazil’s possession seven sachets of suspected shabu shabu and several aluminum foil inside the suspect’s residence.

Police also recovered an illegal Karera machines inside the residence.

The other suspect was identified as Wilfredo Taban alias Fredo, 54. Recovered from his possession were four heat sealed sachets of suspected shabu and other drug paraphernalia.

Taban faces violation of Sec. 11 of Article 2 of Republic Act 9165 while Brazil is also facing violation of Republic Act. 1602 on operating illegal gambling machine and section 11 and 12 of Article 2 of Republic Act 9165.
