DTI urges exporters to be competitive, raise standards

THE Department of Trade and Industry 10 encourages exporters to have competitive standard of products.

This was emphasized in the “Philippine Export Competitiveness (PECP) Information Session held at Mallberry Suites Business Hotel Today.

According to Agnes Legaspi, Assistant Director for Export Marketing Burea , exporters need not just be satisfied with the standards here in the Philippines . Because the price will depend on how competitive the product is.

Participants who joined in todays even were manufacturers, suppliers and exporters in the region.

Topics that were tackled were the logistical requirements, the market opportunity for processed food and the protocol for export of poultry and chicken accreditation to Korea and Japan.

This activity is in line with DTI’s aim in capacitating the regional exporters to gain awareness and updates on international trade, market standards and certification requirements for exports.

Even as   Legapi reiterated that exported goods gives the country over 62.3 Billion last year. this is how huge the  money that the exporters give the country and it is a big help indeed

By this DTI will provide a more sector specific session for processed food and poultry sector . The agency aims to guide exporters to access the Asean Markets and maximize international trade engagements of the country.

Rose Marie Castillo , Division Chief of Export Marketing Bureau in Food and Agro-Marine Division , said that here in Region 10 , it is essential that the exporters need to note the keys to have a competitive goods to that to be exported for Region 10 has the most blessed products such of the pineapples of Bukidnon.
