City hospital Chief Dr. Ramon Nery said that with the help of majority members of the City Council, he expected the new facility to be operational by next month. The building has eight rooms in the Critical Care Unit (CCU), according to Nery.

“We are still waiting for the approval of our application license, from the DOH, and by April, our CCU will be operating,” said Nery.

In Cagayan de Oro city, Nery added, hospitals have more than 80 rooms that serve as a Critical Care Unit, where the remaining 27 rooms are owned by the Northern Mindanao Medical Center.

Among the new facilities at J.R. Borja General Hospital that were turned over by the DOH to the city were new surgery Nurse Station, Laundry and Linen, Cadaver Holding Building, and Comfort room with Public Lounge.
