ANOTHER Rotary year has passed, and it is time for another batch of passionate and service-oriented leaders of the Rotary Club-East Urban, Cagayan de Oro to move forward.

The organization will be installing its new set of officers at the Cafe Cagayan, Pryce Plaza tonight.

RC-East Urban’s officers for Rotary Year 2016-2017 are Rachaille Astrid P. Ferrer, president;  Lesandra Joy L. Gan, vice president-internal; Marivic Y. Tabasan, vice president-external; Marian Kanna M. Idulsa, secretary; Imee M. Van der Born, assistant secretary; Shirley T. Escaño, treasurer; Grace B. Go, assistant treasurer; Georgie S. Tan, auditor;  Minda G. Gaerlan, protocol; Corabel Diel, communications officer; and Magdalena A. Cue, president nominee.

RC East Urban’s committee chairpersons: Lesandra Joy L. Gan, club membership; Lina Estrella G. Faburada, club admininstration; Sarah P. Borja, service projects; Ella L. Yu, Rotary Foundation; Liluisa A. Dacudao, club public relations; and Daisy C. Tiu, new generations.

RC-East Urban’s outgoing president Ma. Concepcion Borja Lagonera and the Rotary Year 2015-2016 club officers would be gracing the turnover ceremony.

During her presidency, Lagonera led the group in carrying out many projects. Recently, the group donated sewing machines for Gingoog City’s Rural Improvement Club, turned over a multi-purpose covered court for the Residential Care for Elderly and Differently Abled to the  Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) at the JR Borja Memorial Hospital, and continued the club’s flagship project “Hearing Aid Program,” among others.
