The Emano administration’s proposal is P538 million higher than this year’s budget for the capitol.

Pelaez

Vice Gov. Jeremy Jonahmar Pelaez said the submission of the proposed budget prompted the provincial board to suspend its sessions until Nov. 11 so its members could focus on the budget deliberations.

Of the P3.58-billion budget proposal, the Emano administration wants a general fund of P2.879 billion for the capitol, and P704,217 as special accounts.

This brings Emano’s 2020 budget proposal to P3,583,805,730.28 or over P500 million more than this year’s capitol budget of P3,045,660,175.

In his proposal, Emano said he plans to focus on eco-tourism or his administration’s pet program “Turismo sa Misamis Oriental.”

He said focus would also be given to fast track the development of the province in the fields of environmental protection, infrastructure, education, health, transportation, cooperatives, and peace and order.
