EX-MAYOR Vicente Emano would announce its candidate against 1st District Rep. Rolando Uy in a political gathering to be presided over by ex-mayor Vicente Emano himself two Sundays from now, Councilor Alexander Dacer said yesterday.

But Dacer said Padayon Pilipino’s candidate against Uy in the 1st District would neither be ex-congressman Jose Benjamin Benaldo nor Councilor President Elipe, Emano’s son-in-law.

“Sa Sept. 20 pa nato masayran kinsay among kandidato sa pagka- congressman sa 1st District,” he told the Gold Star Daily. Dacer said this even as he confirmed that Councilor Ramon Tabor would be fielded by the Padayon Pilipino as it candidate for a congressional seat in the city’s 2nd District, a post that would be vacated by Rep. Rufus Rodriguez because he is constitutionally barred from seeking reelection.

Dacer confirmed this even as he released a list of Padayon Pilipino candidates for city council seats contrary to earlier pronouncements that the announcement would come from Emano himself at the eleventh hour.

The list includes Councilors Annie Daba and Edna Dahino, former councilors Simeon Licayan, Jose Abbu and Alvin Calingin, Kauswagan barangay chairman Pedro Balite, Lourdan Suan, and broadcaster Ronnie Waniwan for the 1st District;

Councilors Nadya Elipe, Leon Gan and Dometilo Acenas Jr., former councilor Ian Mark Nacaya, Barangay 20 chairperson Gigi Go, businessman Condrad Lim, Suzette Daba, and former Misamis Oriental board member Oscar Musni for the 2nd District. Dacer said the Padayon Pilipino has two “reserved candidates” for the city council in the two districts in case of changes.
