Iligan City — A truck driver and his helper were shot by the son of their employer around midnight Monday.

Senior Insp. Felix Rabago identified the shooting victims as Pilarjon Bello, 36, married, driver, and a resident of Zone 2 Barangay. Canitoan and Charlie Sineneng, 36, truck helper, and a resident of Zone 1, Buarra, Barangay Bayabas, Cagayan de Oro City.

Sineneng was fatally shot and was pronounced dead on arrival at a nearby hospital.

Bello, who survived the shooting told authorities he was outside the Forward truck which was parked at Purok 3, Bagong Silang, here, in front of the house of their employer, when he heard a gun shot. When he looked around the truck, Bello saw the son of his employer, Abdul Shahid Ibrahim, at the rear side of the truck holding a gun and saw his truck helper, Sineneng, already sprawled on the ground.

Bello said Ibrahim shot him but missed.

Bello said he tried to chase after Ibrahim who fled towards their house. But upon reaching the garage area, Bello added, Ibrahim’s brother-in-law blocked his way and hit him with a slab of wood.

Police have yet to investigate Ibrahim’s motive in shooting Sineneng.
