CAPITOL’S office heads and workers have been kept in the dark about details of the trip of Misamis Oriental Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano. All they know is that Emano has named Vice Gov. Jeremy Jonahmar “Jigjag” Pelaez as acting governor and provincial board member Vincent Pelaez as acting vice governor until July 28.
But Vice Gov. Pelaez said Emano left for New York to take part in the 17th Kagay-anon International Tapok 2019 at the Sheraton La Guardia East Hotel.
Incidentally, Mayor Oscar Moreno and other city hall officials have also left for New York to grace the same event organized by the Cagayan de Oro City-Misamis Oriental Association of New York Inc..
City hall has been left to the care of councilors Joylene Mercedes Balaba and Roger Abaday.
Pelaez said Emano left on Monday, and is expected to report back to work on July 28.
He said Emano’s trip is considered “personal… kay kaugalingong gasto man to ni Gov. Emano ang iyang lakaw, wala may gasto ang kapitolyo.”
Capitol spokesman Florito “Carlo” Dugaduga said not one of the capitol’s department heads know where Emano is right now.
“Wala man niya ipahibalo asa siya,” Duguduga said.
