THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) is now looking for a man who is suspected to have faked an LTO identification card.

LTO director for northern Mindanao Hilarion Ulep said the fake ID was discovered when Roldan Prieto, a Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) enforcer, found and brought the ID to the LTO regional office, thinking that one of its employees lost it.

Ulep said the fake ID had the name of one “Al P. Terez.”

After close examination, Ulep declared the card “bogus.”

“First, we don’t have a ‘Driver Examiner III.’ Second, my printed name is not complete. I always see to it that my middle name is included. Third, the signature over my printed name is not mine. In short, this guy is not in any way connected with our office,” Ulep said.

He said the LTO found one “Al Palanas Teres” in Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur.

Ulep said an alarm has been sent to LTO-Molave office for the arrest of the suspect who may also be carrying an expired driver’s license.

LTO records show that his last renewal was in 2008.

Ulep warned the public over the use of fake IDs, saying they would be charged.

“I have instructed our legal office to file charges against this person,” Ulep said.
